Questionable Teachings of Islam:
One Billion People Deceived
Adding insult to injury, Muhammad proclaims that women are an "evil omen" and will
comprise the greatest majority of souls in hell:
"...if there is in anything an evil omen, it is a house, a horse and a woman.
(Abu-Dawud: Book 29, No. 3911)
"... I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers were women who were
ungrateful." (Sahih Bukhari: Vol. 1, Book 2, No. 28)
Another Islamic law that Muslim women are to abide by is to cover their face when they
are out in public. According to Islam, the veil (Burka) is a mandate from Allah, yet another
account states that one of Muhammad's companions proposed the idea so that other men
would not talk to Muhammad's wives. The same companion also gives an idea on divorce:
"And as regards [to] the veiling of the women, I said, 'O Allah's Apostle! I wish you ordered
your wives to cover themselves from the men because good and bad ones talk to them.
So the verse of the veiling of the women was revealed."' (Sahih Bukhari: Vol. 1, Book 8,
No. 395)
"Once the wives of the Prophet made a united front against the Prophet and I said to
them, 'It may be if he (the Prophet) divorced you all, that his Lord (Allah) will give him
instead of you wives better than you. So this verse was revealed."' (66:5) Sahih Bukhari:
Vol. 1, Book 8, No. 395)
Chapter Summary:
The fact that fundamental Islam forbids questioning anything that is written in the
Qur'an or pronounced by Muhammad reinforces total control over the personal life of each
Muslim. In many areas, Muslim wives risk the fate of being beaten, divorced or killed with
no recourse against the husband if he proves he had justification allowed by Shari'a law.
Herein is the questionable ideology that is attributed not only to the Islamic god, Allah,
but to Muhammad, whom many consider to be the role model of a highly revered
statesman and religious leader.
By comparison, Jesus placed equal importance for women in regard to their status in
society and commended their faith which many times was greater than that of men.
"And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go
in peace." (Luke 8:48)
